Soul State

Soul state will affect the cooldowns of your abilities, influence world events, impact how some characters respond to you, and determine the final game ending.

Every point of experience you earn can be of the order or chaos type, pushing your soul in one of these two directions.

For example, killing humans or peaceful animals will push your soul toward chaos, while slaying beasts or underworld hordes will push it toward order.

Side quests can often be solved in two or more ways, rewarding you with order or chaos points.

The main story will present decisions that grant virtues, increasing either order or chaos experience.

These decisions can also affect the main story's path, leading to a series of quests based on the side you choose.

There are many small ways to earn certain types of points. For example, gambling will give you chaos points, while petting an animal will reward you with order points.

The player can also earn points based on dialogue choices.

The type of experience you gain is represented by color in the experience popup, and the soul state can be checked on the mastery screen.

God's Favors

There are hidden in-game challenges related to various things the player may perform to an extraordinary level.

Solving a challenge will reward the player with at least one god's favor.

God’s Favors can be traded at various shrines across the map for talents, buffs, or items.

Devotion Shrines

As part of the expansion, you can find Devotion Shrines scattered across the world.

There are 26 major shrines, and after cleansing them, you will have the option to upgrade one of four skills. Additionally, the god associated with the shrine will grant +1 favor, increasing your devotion to them. Cleansing shrines also shifts the world toward order or chaos.

Beyond the major shrines, there are around 90 smaller shrines, which are much easier to cleanse. However, these only influence the world's balance by 0.5% toward order or chaos and do not grant skill upgrades.

Devotion

From level 10, you can devote yourself to a specific god and gain a passive ability based on that god's domain. Investing God’s Favor will strengthen this passive ability, and maintaining a good relationship with the chosen god will reduce the devotion cooldown.

Your relationship with the gods is shaped by your actions and how you resolve quests. Each god judges you based on their own character and values.

On Hard difficulty, gods may intervene negatively if your relationship with them falls below 3 favor. However, such punishments only occur at this difficulty level.
